High on a cool plateau in the central Peloponnese, Mantinia is the home of Moschofilero — a pink-skinned, Muscat-scented grape that gives a pale, fragrant, high-acid white unlike anything else in Greece. The altitude keeps the wine crisp and low in alcohol, all rose petal and citrus and spice.

It is one of the country's most distinctive whites, and a lovely counterpoint to the powerful reds of nearby Nemea. Cool, floral and refreshing, Mantinia's Moschofilero is a small, singular corner of the Greek wine revival.
