Douro Red

For three centuries the Douro's dramatic schist terraces made only one thing: Port. Then, from the 1990s, growers began turning the same old-vine, field-blend vineyards to unfortified dry red — and discovered the valley could make some of Portugal's, and the world's, most exciting table wines.
