Kakhuri Mtsvane — « green » in Georgian, for its pale, greenish berries — is an aromatic old white of eastern Georgia, the traditional junior partner of Rkatsiteli. Floral and peachy where Rkatsiteli is firm and savoury, it lifts the classic Tsinandali blend and stands on its own, in steel or in qvevri, as one of Kakheti's most perfumed whites. It is distinct from Goruli Mtsvane, a different « green » grape of the Kartli region to the west.
